The Simpsons ‘predicted’ the current petrol shortage during an episode that aired in 2010, according to fans.

In the episode, titled ‘Lisa Simpson, This Isn’t Your Life,’ Homer visits a gas station and loads up on 1,000 gallons of fuel so that he can get Maggie a promotional toy. He also fills up the boot of his car.

Many people have taken to social media and said it’s ‘crazy’ how often the show’s ‘predictions’ come true in some shape or form.

Find out what The Simpsons has predicted for the year 2021…

“What the f***, it’s mad,” one person said.

“The world’s most advanced Early Warning System has existed since 1989. It’s helped predict trump’s presidency, the current petrol crisis in the UK, and more. It’s called The Simpsons,” wrote another.

A third added: “Now Simpsons is the ultimate horoscope.”

However, others weren’t convinced.

One social media user pointed out: “Well, after about a million episodes now, it’s difficult not to have covered everything.”

Previously, the series shocked fans when it ‘predicted’ the exact date of Prince Philip’s death.

In an episode, titled ‘Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily,’ Maggie Simpson turns around to tell her siblings, Bart and Lisa, that the Royal will die on April 9, 2021.

What made the statement so strange was that it had nothing to do with the wider plotline, which was about a headlice outbreak.

The episode aired back in 1995. However, it’s been reported that a newer version removed the scene.

As well as predicting Prince Philip’s death, the show also foretold Trump’s presidency, Lady Gaga’s Superbowl performance, and the release of smartwatches.
