This Morning viewers have slammed a former carer who said it was a ‘punch in the stomach’ to lose her job after ‘refusing to have the vaccine’.
Louise Akester appeared on the ITV daytime show and chatted to hosts Rochelle Humes and Vernon Kay about the issue.
However, many viewers were left triggered that the programme gave the woman a ‘platform’ and took to Twitter to say the interview ‘left their blood boiling’.
Reason Phillip Schofield Won’t Be On ‘This Morning’ This Week Revealed

One Twitter user penned: “Giving a platform to an anti-vaxxer former care home nurse, applauding her, sympathising with her and treating her like she’s the victim! Unbelievable! If she loved her job so much, there was a simple way to keep it! So careless putting the residents at risk!”
“I had my viewing completely ruined by having an anti-vax idiot get applauded for sobbing because she can’t put vulnerable people at risk. Disgusting #ThisMorning,” added another.
A third person wrote: “This interview is boiling my blood, how dare you @vernonkay and @RochelleHumes give a platform to the unvaccinated woman and give her a round of applause for being so selfish.”
However, others defended the woman, with one saying: “This gorgeous, kind, caring woman on #thismorning who was sacked due to vaccine mandate in [the] care system.”
In the interview, Akester was asked how it felt to hear that she would be losing her job after working throughout the pandemic, to which she replied: “It was like being punched in the stomach.”
She continued: “We’d been there from day one. We’d worked right throughout it all on the front line.
“You know, we’d done everything that was required of us and everybody depended on us.
“People were coming out on their doorsteps and clapping for us and then all of a sudden now we’re no good.
“You just feel like you’re cast aside and forgotten about.”
