Thomas Markle has claimed that he will take Prince Harry and his daughter Meghan to court so that he can see his grandchildren.

The Duchess of Sussex’s estranged dad told Fox News that he will petition to see Archie and Lilibet, as they shouldn’t be used as ‘pawns’ against him.

Thomas alleged: “I will be petitioning the California courts for the rights to see my grandchildren in the very near future.”

He added: “Archie and Lili are small children. They’re not politics. They’re not pawns. They’re not part of the game.

“And they’re also Royal and entitled to the same rights as any other Royal.”

The retired lighting engineer hasn’t spoken to his daughter for three years.

At the beginning of his daughter’s relationship with Prince Harry, Thomas was rarely spotted in public and appeared to be purposely maintaining a position out of the spotlight.

But then he allegedly agreed to pose for staged photos days before his daughter’s wedding in 2018 which resulted in a huge media storm.

Since then, the pair haven’t spoken and he didn’t end up attending the ceremony.

Meghan revealed in her interview with Oprah Winfrey that although she cares for her dad, she no longer can trust him.

She explained: “I mean, I look at Archie, I think about this child and I go, ‘I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child’.”

“I can’t imagine it. So, it’s hard for me to reconcile that.”
