A TikTok mum has ‘traumatised’ her followers after revealing an unusual method of punishment that she used on her son who hasn’t been behaving well at school.
Katarina Rodriguez forced her five-year-old to ‘run in 104 degree heat’ and documented it in a video that has been viewed almost 600,000 times.
In the clip, she says: “My five-year-old doesn’t want to listen in school.

“Where he makes destructive noises, doesn’t listen, thinks that he doesn’t need to settle down when he comes from the playground.
“We’re gonna run. We’re gonna run in 104 degrees.”
“This is the first time that we’re gonna run for his sad faces that he gets at school, and he thought we were just going to run to the mailbox, so he took off running. Sprinting. Now he’s dying.”
Rodriguez then asks her son if he is going to behave in school and he replies: “Yeah.”

The mother told her followers she prefers this method of discipline over ‘spanking’ or ‘hitting,’ and they were seriously divided in the comment section.
One wrote: “God this is traumatising. Punishment for not being able to listen in a classroom. There’s obviously something else going on with them.”
Another said: “Yikes, this will most likely not change his behaviour. If I was the teacher I’d give all happy faces no matter what.”
A third user, who claims to be a ‘paediatric and child safety expert,’ said: “This makes me so sad. Not only will this fix nothing but it can absolutely have detrimental effects.”
However, some users took the video more light-heartedly. One commented: “LOL, Y’all parent your own kids and leave this mum alone.
“People complain when kids are physically disciplined, people complain when they’re verbal.”
