TikTok star Ali Abulaban, who went viral for being a ‘real-life Skyrim character,’ has been accused of the double murder of his ‘newly-estranged’ wife and a man she was with, according to reports.
In court, prosecutors heard how the 29-year-old, from San Diego, allegedly installed a listening device onto his five-year-old daughter’s iPad, and he heard the pair ‘talking and laughing,’ reports NBC 7.
Allegedly, he then turned up and ‘shot’ Ana Abulaban, 28, and Rayburn Cadenas Barron, 29.
According to the Los Angeles Times, San Diego District Attorney Taren Brast claimed that Abulaban then went to school to collect his daughter.
The content creator has reportedly pleaded not guilty to the crime, in addition to denying special circumstance allegations of multiple killings.
However, Brast has alleged that the father confessed to detectives that he accused his wife of having an affair.
It’s believed that Ana Abulaban asked her husband to move out of their home on October 18 but, despite checking into a hotel, he ‘returned’ to the property three days later.
Prosecutors have claimed that when he allegedly entered the apartment, he used the opportunity to ‘install an app onto his daughter’s device,’ while ‘trashing the home’.
If Abulaban was convicted of the double murder, prosecutors could reportedly chase the death penalty. Typically, this decision is not made during the preliminary hearing.
So far, the district attorney’s office has yet to confirm whether it will be pursued.
Currently, the TikTok star is to be held without bail. It’s also been reported that a protective order has been put in place, preventing him from seeing his daughter.
