In an image captured by photographer Simon Menner, a sniper lies hidden, expertly camouflaged in the landscape, and nearly invisible to the casual observer.

But for those with keen vision and patience, spotting this concealed figure is possible – if you look closely enough.

Menner’s work taps into our fascination with the unseen and the hidden, a quality that makes his ‘Camouflage; series so intriguing.

In each photograph, a sniper is concealed in the frame, blending seamlessly with the background, as he remains ready and undetected. But can you find him?

For those up for a mental and visual challenge, Menner’s sniper series provides the perfect opportunity to test observational skills and attention to detail.

In a world filled with optical illusions and visual puzzles, this image stands out as a true test of perception.

The photograph was taken with the cooperation of the German, Lithuanian, and Latvian armies, whose skilled snipers collaborated with Menner to create these stunning images of real-world stealth.

“Even though they are invisible due to their professionalism, there are hidden snipers in every one of these images. They are aiming at the camera and therefore at the viewer,” Menner explains on his website, giving the image an eerie sense of suspense.

To take these photos, Menner faced his own test of nerves, knowing a trained shooter lay just out of sight, weapon aimed directly at his camera lens.

But with a goal to capture the elusive art of military camouflage, he braved the task to deliver these one-of-a-kind images.

The snipers’ expert concealment skills are evident, as they disappear into various environments – from snowy fields to dense forests.

In this particular image, Menner positions his camera toward a desolate tower standing alone in a snow-covered landscape.

Trees in the foreground provide some cover, but the photograph still looks calm and empty, with no visible threat.

Still, there’s a sniper concealed within this scene, watching intently from a small, strategic vantage point.

For those who take the time to study each section of the frame, there are hints that reveal the sniper’s position.

Focus on shadowed areas and small gaps in the architecture. If you still can’t find him, that’s okay – these military pros are, after all, masters of staying hidden.

Take one last look and see if you can spot the sniper—this one might just make you feel like a top marksman yourself!
