Columbian transgender model and her partner – who was born a woman – have confirmed that their healthy baby boy Ariel has arrived by sharing a cute photo with fans.
After months of sharing photos of the pregnancy on social media, Danna Sultana and Esteban Landrau have welcomed their firstborn into the world, a healthy baby boy named Ariel.
Recently, the couple had an early labour scare as Esteban began to experience contractions. The couple revealed that they travelled to the hospital, convinced it was premature labour. However, they were informed that as Esteban was eight months pregnant, it’s quite common to experience such pains – in particular, because they were expecting a big baby.
As the day crept closer to the arrival of their first baby, fans took to social media to wish the happy couple luck.
One wrote: “How cute! God bless you and may everything be a success at birth.”
Another said: “God bless my little nephew Ariel I want to see you baby.”
A third commented: “They are very beautiful and are giving a lot of courage to thousands of trans couples.”
Last month, the couple had a baby shower in which family and close friends attended.
According to local media, the besotted couple were able to conceive their baby naturally as both Danna and Esteban have their natural organs.
The couple announced their pregnancy in February with a photo of them beaming at the camera. The post was captioned: “Dreams do come true.”
As a transgendered couple, it has been stated that neither Danna nor Esteban has undergone a complete change of genitals. However, Esteban has had breast removal surgery and Danna has had hormone treatment which has enlarged her breasts – they will not be able to provide breastmilk. Therefore, neither will be able to breastfeed their baby.
It has been reported that Danna has commented: “We will give our best, what we have never done before. We will both be fathers and mothers.”
