Man Left Emotional After Spotting Dad Who Passed Away On Google Earth

A man was left emotional when he spotted his dad, who passed away seven years ago, on Google Earth.

@TeacherUfo was trying to find ways to occupy his time during the pandemic when he thought it would be an interesting idea to see what his parents’ house looked like on Google Earth.

To his surprise, he said he zoomed past his dad who had passed away and also found his mum on her way home.

On Twitter, he wrote: “I saw my father who has passed away seven years ago.

“My father must have been waiting for my mother to return home. My father was a quiet but kind man, I hope that Google Earth doesn’t update the photo for this place.”

Since being shared online, the touching story has garnered nearly 700,000 likes.

Unfortunately, one person pointed out that eventually, the image will be replaced once it is deemed outdated.

They said: “Images of my home more than 8 years ago are no longer available.”

Those who enjoyed the man’s sentimental story have also tried finding reminiscent spots on Google Earth too.

One user commented: “When I saw your tweet I went on Google Earth and found my grandmother working in the field. She passed away last year. I’m grateful to be able to see my grandmother in this form.”

Another added: “I also tried searching for the countryside where my mother’s parents’ house was, and found a picture of my grandfather returning home with my grandmother after working in the fields.”

They continued: “He passed away 4 years ago. I immediately sent a screenshot of it to my mother’s family and they were happy to see it. Thank you very much for this opportunity.”

Meanwhile, another user said that they had experienced something similar, as they had been using Google Earth when they came across their dog that had passed away.

They wrote: “I also saw my dog who has passed away due to old age while I was searching for my home on Google Earth last year. I was happy when I saw him. I also hope this photo doesn’t change.”
