Plane Passengers Furious After Being Forced Off Flight As Toddler Wouldn’t Wear Face Mask

When a two-year-old girl refused to wear a face mask on a flight, plane passengers were left furious when JetBlue staff demanded that everyone exit.

Airline JetBlue has recently updated its policy, which means that from everyone on board the flight is required to wear a face-covering – this includes children aged two and over. The airline says that is in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

However, on one particular flight, a two-year-old girl refused to put on her face mask and to the shock of other passengers, staff demanded that everyone exit the plane.

On one particular flight, a two-year-old girl refused to put on her face mask and to the shock of other passengers, staff demanded that everyone exit the plane.

Footage has circulated following an incident on board the Newark-bound flight, in which it is clear to see that there’s tension amongst the passengers and staff as the parent pleaded with the staff to be understanding.

The woman, Chaya Bruck, of Flatbush in Brooklyn, New York, spoke to NBC New York and explained how her family was almost stranded in Florida and has left herself and her children traumatised.

Chaya was planning on taking the flight from Orland to Newark Airport on Wednesday, alongside her kids.

Yet an argument erupted when a flight attendant realised that her two-year-old daughter wasn’t wearing a face mask, she then asked about her age.

The little girl’s mum had assumed that as she was a toddler, she would be exempt from the new policy.

“He said no, she has to cover her nose and her mouth, and I said I could try but then she was pulling it off.”

She told reporters: “He said no, she has to cover her nose and her mouth, and I said I could try but then she was pulling it off.

“A few minutes later, they came to me and they told me that I have to gather my things and I have to get off the plane.”

Outraged, the mum refused and several of her fellow passengers then pleaded with the flight attendant to leave the woman and her kids alone.

Regardless, an announcement was made over the speakers, stating that everyone would have to get off the plane.

Despite JetBlue insisting that everyone would be put back on the flight as soon as possible, Chaya was left feeling distraught as she couldn’t believe how she and her brood had been treated.

She added: “They were horribly nasty, my kids were crying. Really traumatizing.

“I asked them, ‘Should I tie her hands and feet? What do you want me to do?’ They just wanted me off the plane.”

Her husband has since announced to The Yeshiva World that he plans on filing a federal lawsuit against JetBlue.

A statement by JetBlue was released, in which it states that face coverings have become mandatory on flights as of August 10.
