Warburtons has released its first-ever clothing item in the form of the slippers inspired by the nation’s much-loved toasty crumpets. As well as being perfect for bakery lovers, they’re also the ideal Christmas gift!
Available to buy online as of November 30, the Warburtons Christmas Slippers are a must-have novelty Christmas gift.
Perfect for slipping your feet into on a cold winter’s morning, the £19.99 slippers are available in sizes XS-L (shoe sizes 3-12).
Yet what makes this launch even more special is that all the proceeds from the sale of the slippers (excluding delivery costs) will be donated to FareShare, the UK’s largest charity which fights hunger and food waste.
Amazingly, for every pair of slippers purchased, there will be the equivalent of 64 meals donated to those who are most in need throughout the festive period. In total, it will allow FareShare to distribute over 85,000 free meals!
Jonathan Warburton, Chairman at Warburtons said: “This year has been incredibly challenging for many families and communities across the country, both financially and from a health perspective. That’s why we have worked hard to ensure we can feed the nation, both by getting product onto shelves but also by supporting food banks, community groups and breakfast clubs across the country.
“It was reflecting on this achievement that we realised we needed to find a festive way to finish the year, not only putting a smile on the faces of loved ones on Christmas Day but also giving back to the loyal crumpet lovers who ensure we can donate as much as we have.
“As we enter some of the toughest months for those in need, FareShare’s incredible work fighting hunger was an obvious partner and we are proud to be able to donate all sale proceeds from the slippers to such a worthy cause.”
Meanwhile, CEO at FareShare, Linsay Boswell said: “We are delighted that Warburtons have chosen to donate sales of their festive crumpet slippers to FareShare to help us feed families across the UK this winter.
“Getting good, nutritious food to vulnerable people has never been more vitally important than it is now, and this donation will make a big difference to the communities we support. Each pair of slippers sold will help FareShare provide 64 meals and we are so grateful to Warburtons for their support.”
