A vegan recorded herself having a ‘breakdown’ after trying fish for the first time in two years.

Lamar, who is known as @lamarchairez on TikTok, has spent the last two years on a plant-based diet. However, she decided to try and eat salmon after experiencing some ‘allergies’.

Taking to the social media platform, she said: “This is a total s*** show. I guess I’m a ‘seagan’ now.”

In the TikTok video, the woman showed herself preparing the fish that she had purchased. She explained that she had chosen a ‘sustainable wild-caught salmon’ so she could stick to her morals as much as possible.

Eating the meal with a chopstick, she captioned the clip: “I’m really sad. I’m literally having a breakdown over this piece of fish right now.”

Since being shared on social media, the post has been viewed over 17.7million times.

In the comments, one person said: “Literally crying over a dead fish.”

Another added: “It’s a dead fish. You not eating it won’t make it alive again and someone else will just eat it. The world will remain the same whether you eat it or not.”

“So you burn the fish in oil but get sad once it enters your mouth,” a third pointed out.

However, other people jumped to her defense.

One person commented: “Hey girl, I saw the fish video and I just wanted to say I’m very proud of you. I’m not vegan, but I understand how hard it is for some people who are to [eat fish/meat].”

Joining in, a second said: “She leapt out of her comfort zone and did something she didn’t want to do for her health – why do ya’ll not understand how that’s upsetting?”
