Fashion designer Victoria Beckham has faced a backlash over an advert from her latest collection.

Fans have claimed the use of the model, Morgan Porter, is ‘inappropriate’ and ‘disturbing’ as they say she looks ‘too young’ in a photograph from the VB Body Capsule collection.

Although it has not been confirmed how old Porter actually is, people on social media have made their feelings clear, with one writing on Instagram: “This image isn’t right! If she isn’t a child she is very child-like which obviously is what you wanted. Just wrong!”

Another added: “Unfollowing, this picture is disturbing and should be taken down.”

“Why are you using a childlike model for an underwear campaign to accentuate waists? Odd,” commented a third.

A fourth commented: “Don’t like it at all. This is the s**ualization of children.”

According to Meawww, Porter is signed to Storm Models and has previously taken part in runway walks modelling Beckham’s clothes, along with Louis Vuitton.

Beckham’s caption on the image read: “‘Meticulously designed and new to the VB Body Capsule collection, the cropped cardigan hugs the body whilst accentuating the waist. Available in black and white, it’s the perfect layering piece.”

Despite the designer’s current campaign being under fire, she has been praised in the past for ‘showcasing’ models of ‘all shapes and sizes’.

The day before Porter’s image was put out, a plus-size model was used showcasing the same collection Porter features on.

The caption to the post said: “Designed in our signature compact knit, VB Body gently sculpts and flatters the figure.

“This season sees elevated takes on wear-everywhere pieces, including scallop detailing, a new square neckline and an open-back bodysuit.”

Below this, responses were much more positive: “’Finally qween! You listened to our feedback and used curvaceous models for your campaign.”

A second wrote: “As a larger lady I love this. Hard to stay classy when your options are Shein or a tent for two.”
