Video Showing What Drive-Thru Workers Can See And Hear When You Pull Up Goes Viral

Fast-food employees have been sharing behind-the-scenes secrets of working at a drive-thru, but after learning such information some customers have been left super paranoid.

TikTok user @zanderhjura recently shared a peek at what it’s like working at the drive-thru of Starbucks and he’s given some customers quite the surprise.

In his TikTok clip, which has accumulated 1.5 million views, Zander says: “We can see you when you pull. We can see your face. In your car and everything.”

@zandergjuraI don’t think I’m allowed to show you this, but who cares ##LoveStory ##StrikeAPosay ##OutPizzaTheHut ##starbucks ##michigan ##xybzca ##drivethru♬ original sound – Zander

In another of his behind the scene clips, the TikToker revealed that it’s not just your drive-thru attendant who hears you while you’re talking in your car, it’s also every employee wearing a headset in the store. Obviously, its purpose being so that they can hear every order come through, yet workers sometimes get a lot more than they bargained for.

In the clip, Zander teased: “That means we can all hear you while you order your drinks at the drive-thru.”

He added: “Good luck ordering at the next drive-thru.”

@zandergjuraYes, we can all hear you. And yes we do sometimes make fun of your drink ##Wishlist ##StrikeAPosay ##OREOFORSANTA ##starbucks ##drivethru ##xyzbca ##fyp♬ original sound – Zander

Zander isn’t the only drive-thru worker that has decided to spill the beans on what it’s really like to be on the other side.

Various fast-food chain workers have been echoing his stories and have had some pretty wild insights of their own to share.

One Reddit user asked drive-thru workers: “How sensitive are the microphones? What unexpected stuff have you heard from customers who didn’t think you could hear them?”

In response, a worker replied: “I don’t think most people realise that if your car is pulled up on the sensor that triggers the microphone, we can hear what you’re saying the entire time.

“I have heard conversations about abortion, people complaining about a long line, straight-up badmouthing my co-workers, etc.

“I advise you to put your window back up after you order.”

Another pitched in: “Just a heads up… most new Starbucks drive-thrus (2017 and newer) also have a camera in them. We can see you picking your nose…”

While a third said: “I am in a college town, so I’ve heard it all. Lots of conversations about sex and drugs. Sometimes I will leave them waiting so I can listen to the rest of the conversation.”
