A shocking video shows a dad punching a comedian on stage for making an outrageous joke about his son.

The incident has gone viral on social media and sparked a heated debate about the boundaries of comedy.

While some argue comedians should be allowed to joke about anything, others have sympathized with the father, believing the comedian crossed the line.

One viewer comments: “Two wrongs don’t make it right. Violence isn’t the right way to handle an offensive verbal attack.”

A second says: “Geez, I’m sure [the] comedian didn’t mean it.”

Defending the dad, one person writes: “Way to go dad!!!! Disturbing.”

Another adds: “Bro. I’m all for freedom, and I think comedians should be funny, but what were you thinking making fun of his child like that?”

“I was taught kids were off limits when it came to comedy,” agrees a third. “I agree with [the] dad… [the] comedian went too far.”

The incident occurred at a comedy show where Jaime Caravaca, a well-known comedian in Spain, performed at a Madrid venue.

His monologue was interrupted by aggrieved father Alberto Pugilato after he made a s**ualized joke about his three-month-old son before the event.

The confrontation escalated quickly, with Pugilato delivering a punch that knocked Caravaca.

Audience members captured it on video and rapidly, it spread across social media.

Police were reportedly called to the scene, however, no arrests were made as the comedian chose not to file a complaint against Pugilato, per MailOnline.

Following the incident, Caravaca took to social media and apologized.

He stated: “After what happened, what was intended to be a joke was ultimately an unfortunate and not at all appropriate comment on my part. My apologies to anyone who feels affected.

“Let’s put violence aside, and leave a good world for people to grow free.”

Pugilato accepted the apology and responded: “I accept your apology, Jaime. I defend freedom of expression in the same way that I defend the right to respond. I do not wish you any harm and I hope this helps others understand that children are sacred. All the best.”

The tension between Caravaca and Pugilato had been building up prior to the show.

Pugilato had posted a photo of his baby on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption: “Pride and joy.”

In response, Caravaca allegedly said: “Nothing and no one can prevent the possibility that he is gay and when he grows up he gets tired of sucking Black c***.”

According to Spanish news outlet El Mundo, Pugilato is known for his involvement in far-right movements. Caravaca is the complete opposite – in Spain, he’s known for his left-wing stance and LGBT activism.

Before striking Caravaca at the comedy show, the dad was heard saying: “Those p****philic comments about my son… say them to my face… you piece of trash… now!”

In an interview with MultiCanal Radio, Pugilato expressed his feelings on the attack, commenting: “I have been very uneasy, with a feeling that I have not had in my life, very unpleasant and until I have had it in front of me I have not found peace.”
