‘Bikini Tradie’ Says She Has Right To Work Topless Like Male Co-Workers
A woman known as the ‘bikini tradie’ believes she has the right to work topless like her male co-workers.
Shianne Foxx, a Sydney-based landscaper, has raised her voice against the double standards in the workplace, calling for equal treatment when it comes to working topless on hot days.
The tradeswoman expressed her frustration on social media after her boss told her that working topless would be a ‘distraction.’
She pointed out the unfairness of a situation where male tradies can work without shirts, but female workers like her are not permitted to do the same.

In a candid TikTok video, Foxx shared her thoughts with her followers.
“It’s a f***ing 40-degree day today, and I’m the one who has to wear my shirt, while all the boys on the site don’t have to wear theirs,” she said.
“It’s a double standard, it’s s**ist, and I’m actually really over it. I just want to be topless like the boys, but no, I will ‘distract them.'”
The video quickly garnered mixed reactions, with some supporting her stance, while others voiced concerns over potential distractions in the workplace.
Foxx did not shy away from making her opinion known about the naturalness of breasts, arguing that there should be no reason for them to be seen as a distraction.

In an interview with News.com.au, she stated: “I thought it was only fair if I could get mine off too. I have no shame in getting my boobs out.
“I don’t think it should be ‘distracting’ because, at the end of the day, they’re just a natural thing. If you’re going to be childish and feel like they’re going to be distracting, then you should just grow up.”
The issue she raised touched a nerve with many of her followers, some of whom agreed that the workplace rules needed to be more equitable.
One commenter wrote: “It ain’t the lads you work with that would be complaining, direct the hate towards those running the show.”
Others argued that the rules should be challenged, even if it meant facing initial awkwardness or unwanted attention.

“Sure, there’d be comments and looks for a week or so, but then it really wouldn’t matter,” another user added.
However, not everyone agreed with this perspective.
Some worried that allowing female workers to go topless might lead to distractions and potentially increase the risk of accidents in the workplace.
A few commenters even speculated that it might take some time for people to adjust, fearing that the initial shift in dress codes could lead to a decrease in productivity.
Despite the mixed opinions, Foxx’s argument highlighted a broader conversation about gender equality in traditionally male-dominated industries.
She believes that as long as men are allowed to work shirtless, women should have the same rights, especially on unbearably hot days.
