The wonderful world of TikTok life hacks

TikTok has become a popular platform for users to share life hacks they are discovering, and people around the world have been surprised by their revelations.

Recently, some users were shocked to find out what the hook on the back of a shopping trolley was for.

One comment said: “I only just discovered that like only a month ago – and I’ve been using trolleys for years… who would have known, huh?”

Woolworths Australia had revealed this hack on their TikTok, saying: “On the back of every trolley, there is a courtesy hook so you can hang your hat or your reusable bags, so you don’t have to carry them around the store.”

Many users did point out in this post that they thought this was obvious, and were more shocked to hear that people didn’t already know it.

One user said: “Never mind New Year motivations, I could probably power myself through this entire year with the white-hot rage I feel for folk discovering products’ intended uses several decades into their ridiculous lives.”

A similar post went viral that explained what the button on the seatbelt is really for.

TikToker @epiccfacts provided the answer we didn’t even know we were searching for.

“The little button on your seatbelt is to stop the buckle from going past it,” he explains.

“So it will always be in the right spot when you go to buckle it up.”

Many users were shocked by this reveal, with one saying: “Wow, that seatbelt one blew my mind, I would have never thought of that.”

Someone else laughed: “Not me passing that button so many times.”

Others were less impressed and pointed out that it seems like ‘common sense.’

Now, users have been similarly split with the reveal of the ‘real’ reason that there is a curvy bit on the back of a hammer.

The curve in the hammer?

A TikTok has gone viral for discovering the hidden purpose of the curve in a hammer, and everyone is shocked at the explanation.

User @sidneyraz is known for sharing tips that are very helpful for everyday life and DIY.

Based on the comments section, it seems that most people did not know about this handy trick either.

One user commented: “I’m just learning this and I’m 55. How many times I’ve smashed my thumb, 100000 times!”

Another added: “All those times I missed the nail and got my finger!!!!”

“So you mean I’ve smashed my fingers for no reason?!” someone else said.

One user had another admission: “And it’s now that I realise I’ve never used a hammer.”

However, some users are less impressed by this hack and are questioning how useful it is.

One person pointed out that “you can’t point exactly where you want the nail.”

Someone else added: “Only if you can hit the spot where you want your nail exactly.”

People are very grateful for these hacks being shared, with one user saying, “If you’re not teaching life classes for those growing up in this crazy world, you should be, sir!”

He captioned his post: “A lifetime of pain in my thumbs realised.”

In his post, he explains: “Here’s something I didn’t know until I was in my 30s. The back of the hammer can hold the nail of the first swing.”
