Scientists Reveal How Many Times You Should Have S** A Year To Avoid Depression
Scientists are sharing how many times a year you should be having s** to avoid depression.
S** is important for humans, it provides physical and emotional benefits that positively impact well-being.
According to WebMD, it can improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress and anxiety, enhance sleep, boost immunity, and even provide pain relief.
There is also a link between depression and having s**.

Currently, there is a mental health crisis worldwide. There have always been struggles with depression, but issues are far more prevalent now, with more awareness and even the COVID-19 pandemic having its effect.
NAMI reports that in 2023, an estimated 58.7 million adults in the US, or 22.8% of the adult population, had a mental illness.
Although intercourse may not be a cure for everything, it can certainly help a little.
During s**ual activity, the brain releases several ‘feel-good’ hormones, including dopamine, endorphins, and oxytocin.
Dopamine is known as the ‘reward’ hormone, triggering pleasure and motivation. Endorphins act as natural pain relievers and mood boosters, as per Livi.
These chemicals surge by 200 per cent during intimate acts, and are known to help with pain and stress relief.

Experts from the Shantou University Medical College studied the correlation between s** and depression, sharing how many times a week and year people should be having intercourse to help battle mental health issues.
The scientists’ theories suggest that due to the release of the ‘feel good’ hormones, people’s mental health may improve with regular s**.
Researchers recruited participants aged 20 to 59 and asked them to complete a survey about their sex lives.
The study, which involved 14,741 US adults, asked them to complete the Patient Health Questionnaire-9, which is commonly used to diagnose depression.
The results showed that around 7.5 per cent of participants had moderate to severe depression.

The results showed that the effects of having s** and improving depression were most prominent in the age range of 20-30.
The conclusion showed: “A sexual frequency of one to two times per week showed the greatest protective effects on psychological well-being.
“And may serve as a reference standard for mental health evaluation and monitoring during depression treatment.”
Co-author Professor Mutong Chen wrote: “Regardless of sexual orientation, sexual activity offers benefits such as enhanced wellbeing and quality of life, significantly impacting mental health.”
The study also reveals the optimal number of times per year to fight depression with s**.
Showing that between 52-103 times per annual, which means one to two times a week, can improve mental wellbeing.
