Embarking on a fitness journey can be intimidating, especially when you’re trying to stick to a new routine and need motivation.

Personal trainers often serve as guides and cheerleaders, helping clients tailor workouts to meet individual goals while also holding them accountable.

But one mom’s attempt to follow her trainer’s instructions led to an awkward misunderstanding she’s not sure she can bounce back from.

Gemma Hill, a radio presenter for Heart West Midlands, recently shared a hilarious yet mortifying mishap involving her new personal trainer.

Determined to get in shape, she hired a trainer who advised her to take ‘before’ pictures to mark the beginning of her progress.

The instructions were simple: wear underwear, don’t pose, and avoid sucking in your stomach.

The goal was to ‘be honest’ and create a realistic baseline to track improvements.

Taking his words literally, Gemma followed through, snapping a photo in her underwear and sending it directly to her trainer.

What she didn’t realize, however, was that the trainer meant for her to keep the photos for her own reference, not to send them to him.

In a screenshot of the conversation posted on her TikTok account, @radiogemmahill, the trainer responded tactfully: “Hey, sorry Gem I meant to take photos for yourself not to send to me. So you can check out your progress.”

Mortified by the misunderstanding, Gemma quickly replied: “OMG I’m so sorry. What a t**t I thought I was meant to send them to you. How embarrassing. I’m so sorry.”

The trainer, fortunately, took it in stride and even shared a bit of his own awkwardness, replying: “No lol I don’t ask clients to send me pictures in underwear. I was eating dinner with my girl she’s quizzing me ‘who is this chick…’”

Gemma captioned her TikTok post with the phrase ‘How do I go back?’ and a face of despair, perfectly capturing the second-hand embarrassment many viewers felt.

Still, most of the commenters were quick to reassure her, saying it was an easy mistake to make.

One viewer shared: “My PT told me to take pics but said do not send me them so I’m assuming others have before…”

Another added: “I would have assumed the PT had a before and after board or website or something!”
