Identical-Looking Strangers With Same Name And Job Get DNA Test To Find Out If They’re Long-Lost Siblings
Two strangers with identical looks and the same name have taken a DNA test to determine if they’re long-lost siblings.
It’s not uncommon to share similarities with friends or colleagues, but at what point do uncanny resemblances make you question whether you could be related?
This was precisely the case for two athletes who, despite sharing identical looks and the same name, decided to take a DNA test to see if they were long-lost siblings.
Both athletes, named Brady Feigl, are 6’4 baseball players with strikingly similar appearances: red hair, red beards, and thick glasses.
Their physical likeness, coupled with their identical names and profession, raised suspicions and left many wondering if they could be more than mere doppelgängers.
One Brady Feigl pitches for the Pericos de Puebla in Mexico, while the other was a pitcher for the Oakland Athletics.
To top it off, both play the same position in baseball.
Their shared traits and numerous comments from others over the years pushed the two Bradys to seek answers.
They ultimately decided to undergo a DNA test to determine if their connection went beyond coincidental similarities.
To the surprise of many, the DNA test revealed that the two are not biologically related.
However, the test did uncover one notable similarity: both athletes share the same proportion of Germanic ancestry, registering as 53 percent Germanic in origin.
Beyond this shared ancestry, the DNA analysis confirmed that they had no familial ties.
Despite the lack of a genetic link, the athletes expressed gratitude for meeting each other, jokingly referring to themselves to CNN’s Inside Edition as ‘brothers in a way.’
Their story, while not one of biological relation, is a fascinating tale of coincidence and camaraderie.
Their experience brings to mind another famous story of long-lost twins, Jim Lewis and Jim Springer.
Known as the ‘Jim Twins,” their tale is renowned for the astonishing similarities they discovered after being separated at birth.
Both were adopted by different families, yet both sets of adoptive parents coincidentally named them Jim.
Even more surprising were the shared details of their lives: both men had married women named Linda, divorced, and later remarried women named Betty.
They also had the same favorite beer, preferred the same brand of cigarettes, and pursued similar hobbies.
Despite these extraordinary parallels, there were some distinctions.
One of the Jims married a third time to a woman named Sandy, a life event not mirrored by his twin.
Their remarkable story culminated in their reunion at the age of 39 in February 1979, showcasing just how uncanny the lives of separated twins can be.
While the Bradys’ story differs from that of the Jim Twins, both illustrate how remarkable coincidences can lead to incredible stories of connection.
