Isaac Newton is said to have made a chilling prediction about the ‘end of the world.’

The mathematician, physicist, and astronomer was widely considered one of the most influential scientists in history.

He was known for his laws of motion and gravity, revolutionizing our understanding of the natural world.

Newton was proven right about many things, but let’s hope he slipped up when it comes to his predictions about our future.

Beliefs about the end of the world vary widely across different cultures and religions.

Some believe in a catastrophic event that will wipe out humanity, while others believe in a more gradual process of decline and decay.

And while there’s no scientific evidence to support either opinion, Newton made some predictions long ago that might be a cause for concern today.

In 1704, the genius wrote mathematical equations and provided an explanation for his prediction of when the ‘end of the world’ will occur.

In formulating his prediction, Newton used both mathematical equations and the Book of Daniel, the oldest testament in Christianity, which provides a religious perspective on the early history of humanity.

He wrote seven reasons for his year of choice, according to History of Yesterday.

They are as follows:

  1. The 2300 prophetic days did not commence before the rise of the little horn of the He Goat.
  2. Those days did not commence after the destruction of Jerusalem & ye Temple by the Romans A.D. 70.
  3. The time times & half a time did not commence before the year 800 in which the Pope’s supremacy commenced.
  4. They did not commence after the reign of Gregory the 7th. 1084.
  5. The 1290 days did not commence before the year 842.
  6. They did not commence after the reign of Pope Greg. 7th. 1084.
  7. The difference between the 1290 & 1335 days are parts of the seven weeks.

Confused? Yep. Us too.

Thankfully, though, we can simplify his reasons.

In short, Newton believed that the ‘end of the world’ would occur in 2060, 1,260 years from the foundation of the Holy Roman Empire.

Although his prediction is tied to religion, it suggests that Jesus will return and bring peace to the world, but there could well be plenty of destruction along the way.

Andrei Tapalaga summarized the interpretation, stating: “The ‘end of the world’ that Newton is referring to… is when Jesus will come back and bring peace to this world by being the ruler for a whole millennium.

“Jesus would burn all of those that have corrupted Christianity for their own personal gain and teach us all to live in.”

It’s not worth worrying about too much, though – we’ve already made it through a fair few ‘end of the world’ predictions, think 2012’s Mayan Calendar.

Anyway, we still have a good few years to prepare for whatever the future may hold.

So, don’t panic just yet.
