Man Who’s Traveled to 190 Countries Reveals the Most ‘Annoying’ Destination He’s Visited
A man who has traveled to 190 countries has shared the most annoying places he has visited.
Luca Pferdmenges has traveled to many parts of the world, which he documents on his TikTok.
The German has nearly three million people following his travels on the platform.
He posts videos of every country he visits, including trying the local cuisine and even traveling to some of the most dangerous cities.
But now, he’s revealed the most annoying destination he’s ever visited.
Pferdmenges’ revelation has proved controversial online, with one commenter pointing out: “He is 22. His priorities are very different than an adult over 40. He might not appreciate the travel sites the same way he might in the future.”
A second brutally adds: “Imagine how soul-destroyingly dull he must be. I’d avoid him like the plague at a party!”
“He started to travel with 15 and now he’s 22. That’s an average of 27 countries per year. Definitely not enough to be able to make a judgment,” argues a third.
In an interview with Daily Mail, he said: “I enjoy my life as a content creator, otherwise I would not do it. I love it. The freedom it gives me is insane and I am very grateful to be able to travel for a living.”
Pferdmenges is hoping to travel to every country in the world.
The United Nations only recognizes 195 countries but the total number of countries on Earth ranges from source to source, as per BBC’s Science Focus.
He posts videos of every country he visits, including trying the local cuisine and even traveling to some of the most dangerous cities.
He also has co-wrote and self-published a book on travel, ‘Billig Reisen.’
Travel content thrives on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, with Drew Binsky leading the charge, having visited every country in the world.
He has over 12 million followers and more than 4 billion views across his social media channels and recently went viral after sharing the best place he’s visited.
But now, Pferdmenges has offered his expert opinions on traveling, even revealing the most annoying country in the world.
Pferdmenges says that Afghanistan is one of the most affordable countries he has been to, telling the Daily Mail about some other countries that are often overlooked.
The 22-year-old said: “Uzbekistan and some others in Central Asia, Baltic countries, Myanmar, North Macedonia, Bhutan, Montenegro, and most countries in Latin America.
“People usually forget they exist, but they’re often way more exciting and more affordable than the ‘classic tourism destinations.'”
Pferdmenges also said there are hidden gems across the world that are unknown, and some of the prettiest countries in the world he named were Bhutan and Myanmar.
He also explained that he won’t hurry back to Belgium anytime soon, which he described as ‘unsafe’ and ‘ugly.’
Pferdmenges said “It feels super unsafe at night in my opinion – and I’m talking about Brussels here. And many of the Belgian cities are pretty ugly as well. Grey and depressive, especially in winter.”
He also considers Brussels North, and parts of Paris, London, and Frankfurt particularly risky after dark.
One asked which the best country he had visited, but he couldn’t pick just one, instead saying: “My favorite places overall – in no particular order: Mexico, Brazil, Israel, Spain, Bhutan, UK, UAE, Portugal, Austria.”
Pferdmenges said Mexico has the best food, and shared that Israel has great vegan Middle Eastern cuisine.
He praised Lebanon’s Middle Eastern dishes, and Ethiopia’s Injera, and said the supermarkets in Germany and the UK were the best.
However, he criticizes countries like Haiti, Chad, and small Pacific islands for having poor or unhealthy food options.
“Egypt is the most annoying country for tourists in my opinion,” the 22-year-old said.
He added: “Egypt, France, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, most of the Caribbean Lesser Antilles. They’re often very touristy and often don’t have much besides pretty beaches. The Caribbean is super-overrated, the Lesser Antilles, at least.”
Pferdmenges is hoping to complete his travels to every country in the world soon.
