Heart-Stopping Moment Rollercoaster Disconnects From The Track In Mid-Air
Footage of the heart-stopping moment a rollercoaster disconnects from its track in mid-air has shocked the internet.
Cedar Point, the Ohio-based amusement park lauded as The Roller Coaster Capital of the World, has unveiled initial footage of its revolutionary new attraction, Siren’s Curse.
Positioned as the ‘tallest, longest and fastest’ tilt coaster in North America, Siren’s Curse is designed to immerse riders in a mythical journey inspired by the legends of Lake Erie.
The park’s website describes the ride as featuring: “13 weightless airtime moments, two 360-degree, zero-gravity barrel rolls and a high-speed ‘triple-down’ element with twisted and overbanked track.”
Now, shocking footage of the rollercoaster has gone viral online.

The high-speed, winged ’tilt’ coaster incorporates a segment where the track temporarily disconnects mid-air.
This groundbreaking feature has even the most ardent thrill-seekers expressing apprehension.
A clip reposted on TikTok has led to many commenters drawing parallels to the ‘accident’ scenes from the popular horror franchise, Final Destination.
One person says: “I love roller coasters and I love Cedar Point, but I’m not doing a disconnected track,” while another comments: “I prefer the tracks to be attached at all times.”
A third exclaims: “THAT’S THE BIGGEST NOPE I CAN NOPE,” as another equips: “What’s the name of this roller coaster??? The Brink of Death?”
The Final Destination comparisons were prevalent, with one viewer writing: “I’m getting Final Destination vibes here. Imagine the coaster keeps going right off the edge.”
Even seasoned enthusiasts are acknowledging the intense nature of the ride: “I don’t ever get scared on roller coasters. But this one would have my heart pumping. Especially that back row.”

Meanwhile, others are defending the ride’s safety protocols.
One rollercoaster fanatic countered the fears by stating: “Y’all don’t realize how safe roller coasters are. There are SO MANY precautions and testing. Cedar Point workers are also great at checking seats before the ride starts.”
The most anxiety-inducing element of the rollercoaster involves riders ascending a 160-foot lift hill before coming to a complete halt on a ‘broken off’ section of track that pivots into a 90-degree vertical position.
Following this suspenseful pause, the track reconnects, and the train plunges through 2,966 feet of twisting track, reaching speeds of up to 58 mph.
Safety information for the ride indicates that: “Riders will experience changes in speed and direction, weightlessness, and rapid movements from side to side,” with a: “shoulder harness with a between-the-legs safety belt secures each rider over the head and across the chest.”
An official opening date for Siren’s Curse has not yet been announced, but Cedar Point anticipates it will launch in early summer 2025.
