People Are Only Just Realizing They’ve Been Wearing Bras Wrong Their Whole Lives
People are just realizing that they may have been wearing bras wrong their whole lives.
The realization was sparked on TikTok by a stylist who claims that simple bra-fitting tips can drastically improve comfort and support.
Kenzie, a former employee at a high-end lingerie brand, claimed in a viral video that ‘80% of you watching this video are wearing the wrong bra size.’
The stylist’s video has resonated widely on social media, with many viewers expressing gratitude.
One user commented: “This is super helpful! Great video, thank you!”

Finding a properly fitting bra can be a daunting task.
Common complaints include cups that gape or feel too tight, and underwires that dig into the skin.
But according to Kenzie, these issues are often signs of improper sizing rather than poorly made bras.
Her first major tip focuses on the band, which she describes as the most important aspect of a bra’s fit.
“The fit of the band should fit parallel around the small of your back and you shouldn’t be able to pull it out more than two inches,” she said.
She advises buyers to fasten new bras on the loosest hook, since the fabric will naturally stretch over time.
Kenzie’s second point revolves around the relationship between band size and cup size, a concept many overlook.

She explained: “As your band size changes, so does your cup size. So, for every band size that you go down, you should be going up in a cup size.”
She warns that if breasts are spilling out of the cup or being pinched by the underwire, the cup size is likely too small.
Conversely, if there are noticeable gaps or sagging, the cup may be too large.
She also dispels a common misconception by stating that straps are not the main source of support, as ‘it’s your cups and your band’ that do the heavy lifting.
The third and final tip she shared emphasized the importance of choosing the right bra shape.
“There are over 25 different bra styles,” she noted, yet most stores stock only a handful.
As a result, many people might be wearing a T-shirt bra when a balconette or plunge style would better match their breast shape and position.
Wearing the correct style can enhance both comfort and appearance.
