Girls Creeped Out After Checking Into Airbnb And Finding Pictures Of Themselves On The Wall
Two sisters have revealed their disbelief after checking into an Airbnb, only to find a portrait of themselves a decade earlier on the wall.
Aubrey Birrell and her sister Libby recently arrived at their accomodation in San Diego, California, where they had never previously stayed.
Bizarre discovery at Airbnb
Upon arrival, the duo noticed a large photo canvas on the wall, which showed holidaymakers enjoying the sea and sand at the beach.
At first, the wall art simply seemed like a nice picture. It is, after all, fitting for a coastal city known for its beaches like San Diego.
However, when it was the sisters’ dad who first noticed something rather odd.
In a now viral video, Aubrey took to TikTok to share their experience, revealing how her dad had approached the photo and told her: “This looks like me.”
At first, Aubrey thought her dad was being ridiculous.
But when they further examined the photo, they realized that not only was it him, but Libby was actually standing directly next to him and their brother Brady also featured in the picture.
Both Aubrey and Libby appeared in the video, describing the whole situation as ‘crazy’ and ‘unsettling,’ because they had no relation or connection to this particular Airbnb, nor had they ever stayed there before.
Aubrey captioned the video: “We can’t make this up… this is the craziest thing.”
The family never actually discovered why that photo in particular had been put up on the wall, but one TikTok user spookily suggested it ‘sounds like the start of a horror movie.’
Another added: “That’s not a picture, that’s a list.”

Social media users share similar experiences
After their story went viral on social media, many other users have come forward to reveal some of the bizarre coincidences that have happened to them too.
One person even shared a story which had a shocking number of similarities to Aubrey and Libby’s story.
“This literally happened at our rented beach house TODAY,” they commented.
“I had seen this TikTok days ago and something made me look at the giant canvas hanging in the primary bath[room].
“I immediately see my daughter and her high school friend group in the pic – one of whom is with us on this trip! We live two hours away and have been coming to this beach for decades. CRAZY.”
“I flew to India, then traveled up the Himalayas to my old boarding school where I was teaching for the summer. On the first day I was looking at the school photos in the cafeteria and another lady was also looking at photos,” one TikTok user wrote.
“We met in front of one and I said I’d gone to boarding school here 40 years ago and this was the first time I’d been back. She said she’d gone to boarding school here 40 years ago and was back on vacation.
“Turns out she was Cathy, my best friend in school. We lost touch after we left the school and hadn’t spoken since.”
A third person wrote: “I went to the store to buy a frame for my brother and his new wife as a gift. While I was waiting at the register to pay for it, I glanced at the picture that came with the frame.
“To my shock, the model in the picture was actually my brother‘s ex-wife who was, in fact, a model. I quickly went back and found a different frame.”
A fourth commented: “Similar crazy story: my uncle got a postcard from Mackinac Island, and my grandfather was randomly in the photo eating an ice cream cone. He had passed away years earlier.”
So, coincidences certainly do happen… but that doesn’t make this particular incident any less creepy.
