Woman Outraged Over Savage Message After Getting First Brazilian Bikini Wax
A woman was outraged over a savage message she received following her first Brazilian waxing appointment.
Sarah Button, from Australia, took to social media to describe how a routine salon visit quickly turned sour after she received an unexpected text from her waxer.
For context, a Brazilian wax involves removing all p*bic hair and is typically regarded as a highly personal procedure.
Initially, Button described the text she received as starting off politely, even warmly.
Yet once posted, the exchange quickly went viral, with many people expressing outrage on her behalf.
“That is crazy. Please don’t go back there,” one commenter advised.
Another person said: “She cannot send you that.”
Meanwhile, others called the message ‘ridiculous,’ ‘insensitive,’ and ‘unprofessional.’
The waxer used a term of endearment before dropping an unanticipated message: “Just in the future, I’ll have to charge you a little more for the size of the area. I hope that makes sense, nothing crazy, like $5 or $10 extra.”
Caught off guard, Button responded simply with: “No worries,” despite feeling deeply uncomfortable and embarrassed.
It wasn’t until she had time to process the situation that those feelings developed into anger.
Speaking to News.com.au, the 27-year-old explained: “It made me feel initially a bit sad and confused and ashamed but that quickly turned to anger and I was just pissed off about the whole thing.”
What added to her frustration was the timing of the message – it came only after she had left the salon.
“Mostly p***ed that there wasn’t any mention of it during the consultation or the actual appointment or anything,” Button said.
“Like it wasn’t until I’d gotten home that I got the message.”
The incident was particularly sensitive for Button, who has previously spoken openly about her body, including her fatty upper p*bic area (commonly referred to as a ‘FUPA’).
She found the extra charge not only unexpected but also body-shaming.
Although Button clarified that she doesn’t believe this is standard practice in the industry and doesn’t want to discourage others from getting waxed, she felt compelled to share her experience due to how unusual it was.
Some commenters acknowledged that waxing a larger area might require more product and time, which could justify a slight price increase.
However, they argued that such factors are typically accounted for in standard pricing models, and if a price adjustment is needed, it should be discussed transparently and professionally, not after the fact via text.
