‘WandaVision’ Introduces One Of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s First Gay Superheroes

WandaVision has introduced Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first gay superhero in the form of Wiccan!

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Disney+ series follows Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they attempt to live a normal life in the town of Westview with their newborn twin sons, Billy and Tommy.

Already, fans know Tommy will grow up to have speed-based powers, like his uncle. On the other hand, Billy – who grows up to be Wiccan – will develop reality-altering powers, similar to his mum’s. Eventually, he will become a gay teen superhero. Consequently marking for the first in the MCU universe.

In the comics, the boy is a member of the Young Avengers. He will join characters who have recently been revealed to be joining the MCU, including Kate Bishop Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld), Ant-Man’s daughter Stature (Kathryn Newton), and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).

Wiccan will eventually date and marry Hulkling, who is a hybrid alien of two different alien species, the Kree and the Skrull. These two superheroes played major parts in the Captain Marvel film. Now, there’s speculation that Hulkling will appear in Captain Marvel 2.

Inspired by classic TV shows such as Bewitched and The Brady Bunch, Wandavision releases new episodes on Disney+ every Friday.
