Watch: The Brand New Trailer For Sony’s Connected Is Here

The brand new trailer for Sony’s Connected is here and it looks like the perfect family film to sit back and watch.

It looks as though there will be a number of animated family films due out this year, with Pixar releasing both Onward starring Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, and Soul starring Tina Fey and Jamie Foxx within the next few months alone.

Happily though, if you’re one for taking a family trip to the cinema then you’ll be pleased to know that there’s another animated family film coming your way, courtesy of Sony’s Connected.

Brought to us by the genius pair of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the brains behind 2018’s Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and the hugely popular The Lego Movie, Connected tells the story of creative dreamer Katie Mitchell who’s finally about to break free from her family and head off to college, but plans change when her nature-loving and technophobe father decides the family should take one last family road trip to see her off in style.

Well, that’s part of the plot anyway.

Sony released the first trailer for their brand new animated adventure this week and as you can see, things really take an unexpected turn in true Lord and Miller fashion.

Check out the brand new trailer for Sony’s Connected below.

Hosting an impressive voice cast including Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Olivia Colman and Abbi Jacobson, Connected certainly looks as though it will bring an element of chaos to the animated family film genre as well as giving us a gentle reminder to occasionally put down our phones and tablets!

Originally titled as The Mitchells Vs The Machines, plans for another collaboration between Lord and Miller was announced back in 2018, following the hugely successful animated comedies Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, with the latter boasting an impressive 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes as well as becoming one of the most popular animated movies of the last decade.

Directed by Mike Rianda in his directorial debut, Connected is set for a September release and will be released by Sony Pictures.
