Have you ever wanted to see Dwayne Johnson play the ukelele and drive a boat through the jungle? If the answer to that is yes, then you’ll be delighted to know that Disney have given you exactly that, with their brand new trailer for their latest family adventure. We present to you, the latest trailer for Disney’s Jungle Cruise.
Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride Jungle Cruise, the film is set in the early 20th century and follows the story of a riverboat captain and his passengers as they embark on a quest to find the elusive Tree Of Life, taking place right in the heart of the Amazon.
It’s not the first time one of Disney’s theme park rides has been adapted to the big screen and it seems as though Disney is hoping that Jungle Cruise will follow in the footsteps of Pirates Of The Caribbean, which was another popular theme park ride that Disney turned into a hugely successful franchise.

A film with Dwayne Johnson playing the ukulele in the jungle? We’re in!
As you’d expect, Jungle Cruise has an excellent cast attached to it with Dwayne Johnson as Frank the riverboat captain, with Emily Blunt and Jack Whitehall teaming up alongside Johnson as siblings Lily and McGregor Houghton. The film also stars Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti and Edgar Ramirez.
Whitehall’s casting caused something of a controversy when it was announced that he would be playing the role of an openly gay man, with some reports even stating that his character had a “coming out scene” opposite Dwayne Johnson. If the reports are true, then this would be only the second time that Disney has featured an openly gay character in a live-action film, with Josh Gad’s Le Fou in 2017’s Beauty and the Beast becoming the first.
Disney’s Jungle Cruise opens in the UK cinemas on July 24 2020.
