Featurette Has Just Dropped For Shazam! Movie

A new featurette has landed ahead of DC’s latest superhero movie, Shazam!.

In this brand new featurette of DC’s Shazam!, we see actors Asher Angel and Zachary Levi talk about the film and why this superhero movie is different from others.

It seems that for the last 10 years, DC has always been playing catch-up to Marvel when it comes to the big screen, but Shazam! finally has a genuinely different feel to it than any of DC’s recent movies.

When the trailer was released last year, people were immediately impressed by the sharp and funny dialogue that has been missing in so many of DC’s big-screen adaptations and is confirmed by the chemistry between Levi and Angel in this new featurette.

Shazam! follows the story of street-wise foster child Billy Batson (Angel), who after meeting the wizard Shazam (Djimon Hounsou), transforms into an adult superhero (Levi), after shouting out the magic word, Shazam! Apologies for the number of times ‘Shazam’ is written there…

In this featurette clip, both Levi and Angel discuss the excitement of playing the younger and older version of Billy Batson, with Zachary Levi telling us that Shazam is one of the very few superhero characters that is genuinely stoked to be a superhero.

More often than not, you’ve got a character who is begrudgingly pulled into this, and everybody relies on them.

The trailer for Shazam! dropped last year, and in the featurette we see a lot of the same footage that appears in the original trailer, with older Billy Batson and his younger friend, Freddy (Jack Dylan Glazer), finding out what kind of superpowers Billy has. It turns out Billy can fly, has super strength and can also charge people’s phones, kinda.

Check out the brand new featurette below.

Shazam! has a brilliant cast with old and new faces as Angel and Glazer appearing alongside the legendary Mark Strong, Djimon Hounsou and of course, Zachary Levi. The film is directed by Swedish filmmaker David F Sandberg and will be released in April this year by DC and Warner Bros.
