A TikToker – known only as @eskay.305 – uploaded a video earlier this week revealing its true purpose and it’s garnered 3.5million views.
He captioned it: “How old were you when you learned?” And, honestly, we were today’s years old.

In the clip, he demonstrates how to use it correctly.
All you have to do is place it on top of the slice that is next to the one you want to eat.
By pressing down on it, it allows you to pick up the slice you want without touching the one next to it.
In the comments, people joked this was a great way to share a pizza in a pandemic.

However, some people argued that this isn’t its real purpose at all.
One user wrote: “Nope it’s to keep the box from smashing down on the pizza, but that works too.”
Another agreed, adding: “Nope they are to stop the lid collapsing onto your pizza and the cheese sticking to the lid.”.
Maybe it’s a multi-purpose tripod?!
