Who is Jimmy Carr’s partner?
Karoline Copping is a Canadian-born commissioning editor for Channel 5 and she met Carr at a television interview during auditions in 2001.
Copping is credited with two of Jimmy’s recorded projects: Jimmy Carr Live and Jimmy Carr: In Concert.
The couple values their privacy when it comes to their personal lives, but there have been instances where they’ve been seen enjoying evenings together.
This includes an occasion in 2017 when they were spotted on a night out at the popular celebrity hotspot, Chiltern Firehouse.
When did Jimmy Carr and Karoline Copping first meet?
Casrr and his longtime partner Copping, 46, have been in a relationship since their first meeting in 2001.
Despite having spent 19 years together, the two have chosen not to get married.
On Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Carr admitted that when he first met Copping he didn’t make a good first impression.
The 8 Out of 10 Cats star reportedly said Copping’s first impression was that he was a ‘one-note comedian with the eyes of a s** offender’ – not a comment that you’d think would lead to a long-term relationship.
But for Carr, it was love at first sight, with him adding: “I knew. It felt perfect.”
Does Jimmy Carr have any children?
Carr and Copping, who live in North London, reportedly welcomed a son in 2019, who they named Rockefeller.
The comedian is believed to have opened up about fatherhood during his 2021 stand-up at the O2 Academy in Brixton, saying: “I had to tell my little boy he’s adopted.
“I mean, he isn’t, but the look on his face. I said, ‘No, no, no, you were adopted, the new family is picking you up tomorrow’.”
He added ‘we’re having a gender reveal party for our kid but we’re going to wait until he’s 21 just to be sure’.
Reportedly, they also share a dog named Marnie.
