A Who Wants To Be A Millionaire contestant was left red-faced when he used his phone-a-friend to ring his wife and another man appeared on the line.
On Thursday night’s episode of ITV’s programme Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, contestant JP Hogan was left feeling awkward when he used his phone-a-friend on his wife and heard a man’s voice on the line.
The scaffolder turned teacher began the show feeling fairly confident about his chances, yet when he reached the £8,000 question the struggle began to show.
When JP was asked by host Jeremy Clarkson: “Which of these days is part of the weekend in Germany?”, there were four possible answers it could be: “Donnerstag, Mittwoch, Sonntag or Dienstag”.
Not feeling one hundred per cent sure of himself, JP decided to use his phone-a-friend lifeline and called his wife Elizabeth.
However, JP and Jeremy were left a little bemused when they heard another voice ahead of Elizabeth’s.
On the line, a man’s voice could be heard saying: “Sorry there was no service.”
Although taken aback by the unexpected voice, joker Jeremy, 60, couldn’t help but make a remark.
The host joked: “A man just answered her phone.
“Relax, it could be completely innocent.”
Feeling embarrassed, JP then began to laugh at Jeremy’s comment.
Meanwhile on Twitter, many said that although the moment was slightly painful to watch, it was also absolutely hilarious.
One person questioned: “So who’s the dude that answered his wife’s phone.”
Whilst another commented: “His face when Jeremy said another man answered your phone.”
Despite JP’s confidence faltering on the £8,000 round, he ended up leaving with an impressive £64,000.
