Whoopi Goldberg compared the US to Saudi Arabia after President Joe Biden visited the country.

Speaking on her show The View, the actress said she believes that after the recent abolishment of the abortion law, many states are violating human rights by ‘disallowing women control over their bodies.’

Goldberg said: “He didn’t have to go to Saudi Arabia, however, to find a country that’s violating human rights or a country that’s opposing women because plenty of states we live in are doing the same thing.

“Remove protective rights from women, disallowing women control over their bodies. So I just want to say, you know, I think part of the big problem that we have is our own hands are dirty quite often.”

President Biden has already been criticised for his trip to Saudi Arabia after a report revealed that Mohamed bin Salman Al Saud, the Crown Prince of the Middle-East country, was responsible for the death of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

They also have strict human rights rules, which is why Goldberg is comparing them to the US.

The Supreme Court took away the rights for women to get abortions in 26 different states earlier this year, similar to Saudi Arabia where females are only eligible for the procedure under strict conditions.

President Biden was further slammed for greeting the Crown Prince with a fist bump, with Fred Ryan, the CEO of The Washington Post, tweeting: “The fist bump between President Biden and Mohammed bin Salman was worse than a handshake — it was shameful. It projected a level of intimacy and comfort that delivers to MBS the unwarranted redemption he has been desperately seeking.”

However, the Head of State responded by telling reporters at the White House to ‘report on something that actually matters.’
