The View fans are demanding that Whoopi Goldberg be ‘fired’ after insisting that the star has gone ‘too far’.
Viewers launched a Change.org petition – named Fire Whoopi Goldberg From The View – earlier this year and it has now amassed over 43,000 signatures.
Its description references the comments the Sister Act star made earlier this year when she said the Holocaust ‘wasn’t about race’.

The page’s full bio reads: “Whoopi has made numerous remarks about race that have ruffled feathers. But her most recent comment attacking victims of the Holocaust and the entire Jewish community is disgusting. Apologies are not enough when it comes to things like this, this can and will not be forgotten.
“We as Americans demand that she be fired from the daytime TV show The View for her repulsive verbiage and actions.”
On Twitter, many people have shared a similar attitude, branding the actress ‘out of touch’.
One said: “Whoopi Goldberg should be fired ASAP… A racist and man-hater.”
“Whoopi Goldberg is out of touch with the real world… Enough already,” a second tweeted.
The majority of backlash against the 66-year-old started when she appeared on the show at the beginning of the year and discussed the Nazi genocide of the Jews.
Referencing a book, Goldberg said: “I mean, it’s about the Holocaust, the killing of six million people, but that didn’t bother you?
“If you’re going to do this, now let’s be truthful about it because the Holocaust isn’t about race. No. It’s not about race.”
She continued: “The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley. Let’s talk about it for what it is. It’s how people treat each other. It’s a problem.
“It doesn’t matter if you are black or white because black, white, Jews, Italians – everybody eats each other.”
