Donald Trump‘s 2024 presidential election could have a surprising impact on the lives of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

As the 2024 U.S. election results unfold, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are closely watching, especially considering the potential impact a second term for Donald Trump could have on their lives in California.

Now the Republican candidate secures victory, it could lead to significant consequences for the Sussexes, given their strained relationship with the former president.

Trump’s relationship with the Sussexes has been tumultuous, with Meghan vocal about her disdain for him dating back to 2016.

She described him as ‘divisive’ and ‘misogynistic’ long before his presidency, per the BBC.

Trump’s response came years later, during a 2019 UK state visit, when he referred to Meghan as ‘nasty’ in an interview with Piers Morgan.

He softened his stance afterward, claiming that he thought she was ‘very nice.’

However, his views on Harry remained less favorable, particularly after the Sussexes publicly supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

Trump has long been critical of Prince Harry, particularly since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the U.S.

Trump remarked that he was ‘not a fan’ of Meghan and wished Harry ‘a lot of luck’ but warned he would need it, as reported by The Guardian.

Further remarks followed, including statements where Trump suggested that Harry had been ‘used horribly’ and that his relationship with Meghan had ‘ruined’ his family ties, per Newsweek.

CBS reported that Trump also made personal jabs, calling Harry ‘whipped’ and predicting that Meghan would eventually leave him for another man.

The couple’s situation is complicated, particularly regarding their immigration status, which has been a point of contention for Trump.

Trump’s comments have ranged from questioning Harry’s drug use to asserting that Harry betrayed the late Queen Elizabeth II.

In a recent interview with the Express, Trump said, “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.”

His remarks were fueled by the fact that Harry admitted to using substances in his memoir ‘Spare.’

Trump’s stance has been echoed by other conservative voices, such as the Heritage Foundation, which filed a lawsuit requesting access to Harry’s visa records, questioning how he was allowed into the country despite his history of drug use.

Despite this scrutiny, the case remains unresolved.

In a ruling earlier this year, a judge decided that Harry’s visa documents should remain private, citing that there was insufficient public interest in disclosing the details of his immigration records, the BBC reports.

However, the Heritage Foundation’s legal team argues that the lack of transparency severely compromises their ability to appeal the decision.

Trump’s son, Eric, added to the criticism by suggesting that Harry’s visa status would remain unchallenged simply because ‘no one cares’ about him.

In a conversation with the Daily Mail, Eric dismissed concerns about Harry’s past drug use, stating: “I don’t give a damn if he did drugs. It means nothing.”

He also acknowledged that, despite the couple’s issues with the royal family, Harry’s visa would not be revoked, largely because the public has little interest in him.

As Trump’s second term looms, the Sussexes’ future in the U.S. remains uncertain.

While Eric Trump downplayed the significance of Harry’s visa status, the ongoing public scrutiny and the complex legal battles surrounding his immigration application add another layer of tension to the couple’s already fraught relationship with the Trump family.

The outcome of the election could even mark a new chapter in the saga of Harry and Meghan’s life in the U.S.
