Over 10,000 people have replied to the tweet and it now has almost 450,000 likes. However, some people have slammed the star for agreeing with his dad’s actions.

One responded: “I think you mispelt, ‘I’m embarrassed at my father’s behaviour’.”

“Jaden, really?” asked another. “Will was in tears after he slapped Chris and has to be consoled by Denzel and Tyler. That’s not how we do it. That’s not how we do at all.”

Others defended Jaden Smith’s comment, with one saying: “A man defended his wife after another manmade ‘jokes’ about her career on national TV, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. His dad is awesome!”

A second agreed, adding: “Exactly son. I can take all jokes but if you humiliate my family in public, you are gonna get it.

“I see all these people having a go saying your dad should have shown restraint and had a quiet word. My answer to them is: if the table was turned and you are given the choice. You’d do worse.”

It all started when Rock mocked Pinkett Smith’s shaved hairdo at the 94th Academy Awards, which is reportedly due to her suffering from the hair loss condition, alopecia.

He said: “Jada, can’t wait for G.I. Jane 2.”

Smith then walked up on stage and slapped the comedian, before screaming: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth,” when he sat back down.

In response, the comedian said: “Wow dude… It was a G.I. Jane joke.”

Clearly stunned from the incident, he continued: “Okay. That was the greatest night in the history of television, okay.”
