A woman has received a backlash on social media for complaining about a £25 cake that looked nothing like the picture she sent the baker.

The viral TikTok video, which was shared by a user known only as @thatrandom33, has racked up over 500,000 views since being shared.

The caption reads: “I ordered from a small cake business and this is what I sent. The cake was £25.

“I ordered this for my mum’s birthday. How am I meant to serve it?”

Alongside an image of what the woman ordered, she also shared what she ended up getting.

The first photo shows a chocolate cake topped with a mini bottle of Jack Daniels, fruit, stars, and some dripping chocolate sauce.

However, she ended up with something that was clearly much smaller in size and sparsely decorated with a Kinder chocolate bar and artificial flowers.

Many people have since taken to the comments and argued that the woman would ‘never’ have received the cake she actually wanted for just £25.

One wrote: “The baker needs to make a profit for their time and the ingredients so paying £25 I’m not sure why you expected to get the pictures you sent.”

“Get what you pay for,” added another.

A third commented: “What did you expect for £25? The examples you showed would cost £80-100.”

However, others rushed to the TikToker’s defence, writing: “The baker should not have agreed to do this when they obviously knew they couldn’t meet the expectations.”

Another said: “People are saying what did you expect for £25 but the thing is the business owner acted as if they could make that but they didn’t.”

“If you showed the baker the picture of what you wanted and she told you £25, what you got isn’t good enough! Complain!” suggested a third.
