A woman was left ’embarrassed’ when she was told to leave her local gym for wearing a crop top.
TikToker @shelby.bellz claims she was told ‘we can’t have our bellies hanging out’ by the receptionist, despite only an inch of her stomach being on display.
However, she was allowed into the venue and cracked on with her workout.
Woman Told Top ‘Isn’t Appropriate’ By Disney World Staff

Around 15 minutes later, she was approached by another employee and was told that she’d have to leave.
In the clip, which has been viewed 1.2 million times, Shelby said: “I just went to the gym and the lady at the front desk said that they have a policy, you’re not allowed to wear sports bras to the gym, that you can’t be showing your belly.
“She said ‘It’s fine for this time, but just so you know for next time’.”
Breaking down into tears, she added: “I’m 15 minutes in on the treadmill and the program coordinator came up to me and asked me to leave.
“I’m so embarrassed.”
Since the clip has gone viral, Shelby has shared further videos to justify why she was left feeling so upset.
She explained that it could come across as ‘fat-shaming’ and the incident itself was simply ‘problematic’.
Shelby said: “There’s two things that are problematic in how this went down and neither have anything to do with the dress code.
“The dress code is what it is, I can’t change that, whatever.
“But number one is how the lady at the front desk spoke to me. I said, ‘Oh we’re not allowed to wear sports bras?’ and she said, ‘Well, we can’t just have our bellies hanging out,’ in a belittling tone.
“That already is not okay.”

She added: “Problem two is that she told me it was okay, that it was okay for this time but for next time to wear something else.
“So I went into the gym with my wristband on that she gave me, then to have somebody come up to me after I’d already been there 15 minutes, sweat pouring down my face.”
Many people took to the comments and said they understood why she was ‘hurt’ from the incident.
One viewer said: “To everyone in the comments being like ‘well those are the rules,’ haven’t been to a gym and seen that the ‘roles’ don’t apply to certain body types.”
In agreement, a second said: “I’m so sorry that happened to you. It’s horrible and should not have happened. You did nothing wrong.
“Your feelings and videos are valid!”
