A woman has explained why she paid to lose her virginity aged 43.

Some people choose to wait until later in life to have their first intimate experience.

This can be down to religious beliefs or just not finding the right person until they are older.

However, for those with complex disabilities, having a relationship can be a bit more complicated.

This woman lost her fingers and legs to sepsis and now she’s a model. Find out more below…

Melanie Hawkes, from Perth, Australia, has opened up about her decision to use a male escort to lose her virginity.

She was taken to the hospital when she was two after she went from walking and talking to stumbling around like she was ‘drunk’.

She was then diagnosed with transverse myelitis, a disorder caused by inflammation of the spinal cord due to an infection.

Hawkes experiences occasional pain and issues with her breathing – which means she relies on the help of support workers to assist her in her day-to-day life.

Speaking to Take 5 magazine (via News.com.au), Hawkes has revealed that she never had a s**ual experience until her 40s.

The only time it was discussed in her household was when her parents would speak about it to her brothers.

She recalls: “I’d liked a guy in uni, but after he was teased about having feelings for me, he kept his distance.

“After that, I assumed my dream of having a partner someday wouldn’t happen, so I busied myself with work and other commitments.”

However, in 2022 Hawkes contracted Covid – which impacted her breathing – and she was certain that she was going to die.

After a difficult night sleeping, her support worker offered to give her a back and neck massage to relax Melanie.

Despite it not being s**ual, this was the first time that the 43-year-old ‘had been touched so intimately by anyone’.

Her support worker then informed Melanie that there are escorts who specialise in working with disabled clients – with the support worker revealing that used to be her job.

After Hawkes’ battle with Covid made her realise that ‘life was too short’, she began looking for an escort and came across one called Chayse.

They spoke over the phone almost immediately after Hawkes messaged him, which helped put all her worries to rest.

She first booked a two-hour erotic massage with Chayse, which got moved forward from its original date as she was ‘too eager to wait’.

Their first appointment was at his house and she asked her support worker – who also picked out some s**y underwear for Hawkes – to take her there, before leaving the pair to have fun.

After their first session, she arranged another session at her own home as ‘it was better equipped’ for her needs.

Hawkes tells Take 5: “We were together for three exhilarating hours and the next morning my whole body was aching.

“Chayse had bent me into so many different positions, but they’d all felt so good at the time.”

She adds that she is learning from Chayse to help her find a soul mate – which is something she has never really pursued.

Hawkes says she understands that people may hear her story and judge her, however, she isn’t bothered by this.

She explains: “People who matter to me are supportive and this is the happiest I’ve ever been.

“My only regret is not doing it sooner. I’m speaking out now, so people with disabilities know there are options for intimacy.”

Hawkes has shared the news of her interview on Facebook, where she is also sharing her experiences with escorts and is encouraging others to do the same.
