A woman on TikTok has gone viral after ‘uninviting her own mum from her wedding’, as she fears she’ll make it a ‘living hell’.

Felicity Rae, who has been documenting the build-up to her special day on the social media app, revealed to her followers why one of her parents will not be attending.

“At one point, she even said that this isn’t normal and that I should get help – instead of being like, ‘How can I help?’

“During the call, she said, ‘You know what? You’ve turned quite the f***ing snob lately’ – those exact words. Immediately, I said, ‘You’re uninvited to the wedding’, and she said, ‘That’s fine’. And then I blocked her on social media.”

In the comment section, viewers were supportive of Rae’s decision, with one person posting: “You did the right thing to protect yourself and your energy. Sometimes our own family can be the most hurtful. I’m proud of you for setting boundaries.”

“I can sympathise with you. Put you first!” another user replied.

A third commented: “So proud of you for setting these boundaries. Sorry you’re going through this. You gotta do what’s best for you!”

Someone else replied with their own experiences, writing: “I set boundaries with my mom and my sisters. They LOVE to gossip and talk trash about one another. My mom didn’t like it and she’s very dramatic.”
