The circumstances surrounding Carter’s passing have been detailed in his autopsy report.
Documents show that he drowned in his bathtub after taking alprazolam and inhaling compressed difluoroethane, according to TMZ.
The report also states that he became ‘incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects’ of the drugs, causing him to slip underneath the bathwater and drown.
According to The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Carter’s death is officially ruled as an accident.

However, his ex-fiancée and mother of his child, Melanie Martin, has said that the findings ‘are not closure for me’.
She tells TMZ: “It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a T-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which don’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?
“I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day.
“I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions.”
Sources close to the Carters had previously said the family believed that he died from an overdose after a drug deal gone wrong.
Last month, his mother Jane Schneck released images taken at the scene of his death in a bid to get the police to open an investigation.
She claimed: “Still trying to get a real investigation for the death of my son Aaron Carter.
“I want to share these death scene photos with you all because the coroner wrote it off as an accidental drug overdose.
“They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past.”
