The story of conjoined twin Abby Hensel’s marriage has taken a new twist.

Hensel and her sister Brittany became viral sensations in 1996 after appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

They’ve even had their own reality TV show, Abby & Brittany, but have since taken a backseat from the spotlight.

However, after the news of Abby’s marriage, they’ve been making headlines again.

The sisters are joined at the pelvis and each one controls one side of their body, meaning they have to do things together.

Being conjoined twins has not held the siblings back.

They’ve received their driving licenses, graduated college and even become teachers.

“People have been curious about us since we were born, for obvious reasons,” the twins said in the first episode of the eight-part series, via ABC.

“But our parents never let us use that as an excuse. We were raised to believe we could do anything we wanted to do.”

Previously, they’ve even shared plans to become mums one day.

Brittany said: “We haven’t thought about how being mums is going to work yet,” while their mum weighed in: “That is probably something that could work because those organs do work for them.”

Although the sisters have shared their plans to start a family one day, they’ve made it clear they don’t plan to reveal all about their personal lives.

Brittany clarified: “The whole world doesn’t need to know who we’re dating or what we’re gonna do and everything.”

But recently, it has come to light that one of the twins, Abby, has tied the knot.

Today reports that Abby married Josh Bowling in 2021, and the twins have now addressed the online reaction to the news.

They posted a TikTok video showing various ancient sculptures of conjoined twins, alongside the caption: “The internet is extra LOUD today. We have always been around.”

People have been congratulating Abby on social media, with one writing: “As long as y’all are happy nothing else matters!”

Another adds: “I feel like I grew up with you guys! I’m 34 and watched you years ago and was obsessed! Much love I’m glad to see you both so happy.”

However, others have had another question about the union…

One Redditor asks: “How does this unfold legally? Since they are two people married to one man, who is on the marriage certificate?”

While some questions have remained unanswered, new information about Abby’s husband has been revealed.

Bowling, the twin’s spouse, is reportedly facing a paternity battle against his ex-wife, Annica Bowling – which is believed to have been filed on October 3, 2023, as per People.

Annica has filed the suit against Bowling and an individual named Gavin Vatnsdal, according to MailOnline.

At the time of writing, it is unclear whether it concerns the paternity of Annica’s youngest daughter – the documents do not name the child in question as they are a minor.

Annica and Bowling reportedly wed in 2010 and seperated in 2019, with the pair now sharing joint custody of their eight-year-old daughter.

Following their split, Bowling’s ex-wife welcomed another daughter – this may be the child whose paternity is being contested.

The former couple’s 2022 divorce documents refer to the three-year-old as Bowling’s ‘half-sister’.

A genetic test report was filed to the court on March 7, it is not available for public viewing.
