Billie Eilish’s parents have responded to the singer’s 11-year age gap with her boyfriend, American singer Jesse Rutherford, 31.
Eilish, 20, was first spotted kissing Rutherford last month and ever since then, fans have been raising their eyebrows.
The couple caused further controversy when they played on their age gap relationship with their Halloween costumes.
To fans’ shock, Eilish dressed up as a baby by wearing a diaper, bonnet and slips. While Rutherford donned an old man’s costume and wrinkled prosthetics.
At the time, many took to social media and said the costumes were ‘disturbing’.

One remarked: “That Billie Eilish costume is extremely disturbing and I absolutely hate it every time it crosses my timeline.”
“Billie Eilish dressed up as a baby and Jesse Rutherford dressed up as an old man for Halloween… I hate it so much,” added another.
While a third said: “Billie is grown enough to know weird and creepy this is by the way.”
Now Eilish’s parents Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell have apparently weighed in on the matter.
Hollywood Life reports that the pair are ‘super supportive’ and ‘think he is a total gentlemen’.

The alleged insider added: “They trust him and he is sincere and only wants to make sure she is happy.”
Fortunately for the ‘bad guy’ singer, it’s not just her parents that are pleased about her relationship – as her older brother Finneas O’Connell seemingly does too.
Hollywood Life claims the songwriter also ‘approves’ and is happy that his sister has found someone who makes her feel ‘so happy and giddy’.
“The chemistry between them is electrifying and everyone around them can see this,” an alleged source told the news outlet.
And when it comes to controversial Halloween photos, it turns out that despite the criticism, the pair thought it was ‘hilarious and so perfect’.
This isn’t the first time that Eilish has found herself in a relationship with an older man.
In 2021, the ‘Happier Than Ever’ singer got together with actor Matthew Taylor Vorce, who is also 11 years older than her.
The pair broke up in May of this year.
Vorce took to his Instagram stories at the time and said, via Page Six: “Nobody cheated on anyone.
“Relationships end. Simple as that. Creating rumours and LYING on the internet is dangerous.”

Although Eilish has only recently become public with Rutherford, she’s previously made it clear that she would love to start a family one day.
When interviewed by The Sunday Times, she said: “[I would] rather die [than not have kids]… I need them.
“The older I get, the more I experience things, I just think, ugh, what am I going to do when my kid thinks that this is the right thing to do and I’m, like, no, it’s not! And they won’t listen to me.”
