Bobbie Jean Carter, the sister of Aaron and Nick Carter, has tragically died aged 41.
Nick, 43, is an American singer who is best known for being a member of the Backstreet Boys.
While Aaron rose to fame as a teen pop sensation in the late 90s with songs such as ‘I Want Candy’ and ‘I’m All About You’.
Last year, Aaron’s fans were left devastated when it was announced that the singer had died aged 34.
Documents disclosed that the ‘Aaron’s Party’ singer had drowned in his bathtub after taking alprazolam and inhaling compressed difluoroethane.
And now just a year after her brother’s death, it has been shared that his sister Bobbie Jean has also passed away.
Unlike her siblings, the 41-year-old lived a relatively quiet life – although she was involved with her brothers’ music careers.
TMZ reports that she worked as a wardrobe and makeup stylist on Aaron’s tours during the early 2000s.
Bobbie Jean also starred in eight episodes of her family’s E! reality TV series, House of Carters, which aired in 2006.
In the series, Bobbie Jean’s addiction and substance abuse issues were a topic, as reported by TMZ.
Following the reality show, the star avoided the public eye.
According to multiple reports, the 41-year-old died on Saturday morning in Florida.
Her heartbroken mother, Jane Carter, said in a statement to TMZ: “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time.”
This statement references the passing of Jane’s daughter Leslie Carter, who died aged 25 in 2012 as a result of an overdose, as per The Sun.
Jane continued: “When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement, but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private.”
People magazine sources reportedly say that the family believes Bobbie Jean died after going into cardiac arrest. However, further details remain unclear.
An official cause of death has yet to be determined.
Bobbie Jean’s death comes after the star was arrested in Florida in June for allegedly stealing stickers and markers from Hobby Lobby.
Allegedly, drugs were found on her person.
The Carters are a family that has been rocked by tragedy and troubles.
Before Aaron’s death, the star alleged that his family members were trying to place him under a conservatorship, claiming he had grown estranged from them.
Around this time, an insider close to Nick told E! News: “They do not speak and there is no conservatorship attempt happening. No one has any idea where Aaron is getting this from.”
