The world is mourning following the death of Isabelle Tate, who died at just 23 years old.

Tributes are pouring in from friends, colleagues, and fans following the devastating news of the actress’s death.

Kim McCray, owner of The McCray Agency, which represented Tate, expressed her heartbreak on social media: “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away.

“I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager, and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1: Nashville. She had a wonderful time.”

Hunter McVey, Tate’s co-star in the 9-1-1: Nashville pilot, shared an emotional tribute, saying he was ‘shocked’ by the news.

“I didn’t know Isabelle prior to filming, but I couldn’t have asked for someone better to work with on one of my first-ever days on set,” McVey recalled. “She had such a great energy. You could tell she brought joy to a lot of people.”

Family members remembered Tate as: “Full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others.”

They described her as ‘the most caring, loving person’ who was ‘always the life of the party.’

Tate’s sister was described as her best friend, and her mother as her ‘shining beacon of light.’

The Nashville native had recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a business degree before returning to acting after performing as a child.

Her role as Julie in the pilot episode of ABC’s 9-1-1: Nashville, which aired on October 6, marked her first adult acting booking and breakthrough role.

The show, starring Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, and LeAnn Rimes, represents the third installment in the first-responder franchise from Ryan Murphy Television.

Beyond acting, Tate was musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing several tracks.

Tate passed away on October 19, 2025, from a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a progressive neuromuscular condition that had confined her to a wheelchair.

The disease, which primarily affects the legs but can also impact internal organs including the lungs and heart, causes lifelong, progressive symptoms including muscle weakness and sensory loss, per Mayo Clinic.

According to her agent, Tate had essentially given up on her acting dreams because of her condition until landing the 9-1-1: Nashville role – a part that proved perfect for her and reignited her passion for performance.

The show plans to honor Tate’s memory with a tribute card in an upcoming episode.

The TV star’s funeral took place on Friday, October 24.

Tate is survived by her mother Katerina Tate, stepfather Vishnu Jayamohan, father John Daniel Tate, and her sister Daniella.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association in Isabelle’s memory.
