Kiss legend Ace Frehley shared a chilling final post before his tragic death last Thursday (October 16).

It was announced last week that the rock legend had died in a heartfelt family post, and news the musicians passing prompted an outpouring of grief from fans around the world.

Two of the bandmates described their former colleague as ‘essential and irreplaceable,’ adding that he helped shape the early identity and sound of the rock band.

One devastated fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Ace Frehley was the embodiment of rock ’n’ roll attitude – unapologetic, loud, and irresistibly catchy.

“His riffs had swagger, his tone had bite, and his presence lit up stages like a supernova. The Spaceman has left the stage, but his orbit will shine forever.”

Another added: “Wow, he will be so missed. It’s hard to believe that one of my first guitar influences is gone.”

As a third said: “RIP to a rock and roll legend! Ozzy and Ace in the same year is brutal.”

“He’ll be missed, one of the greatest rock guitarists ever,” somebody else wrote.

Announcing the news in a sad statement, Frehley’s family wrote: “We are completely devastated and heartbroken.

“In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.

“We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others.”

They added: “The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension.

“Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”

One original member of KISS simply wrote: “I’m shocked. My friend… I love you.”

The band was created in New York City in 1973, and quickly became one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

They created four characters for the band, The Demon, The Starchild, The Spaceman (Frehley), and The Catman.
