Angus Cloud’s mother has shared an update on her son’s cause of death.

The Euphoria star, 25, played Fezco ‘Fez’ O’Neil on the popular HBO TV series – which saw him be a fan-favourite character on the show.

Sadly, news broke on July 31 that Cloud had tragically passed away.

His family shared a statement that touches on how he struggled with his mental health ever since his dad died in May.

It read: “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.

“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

However, Cloud’s mum, Lisa, has confirmed in a Facebook post that her son did not commit suicide.

She penned: “Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time.

“I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one.”

Lisa then recalled how the Euphoria star had spent the day reorganising his room as he was planning on staying at his childhood home for a while.

She added that he wanted to help put his sisters through college and support his mum – both emotionally and financially.

“He did not intend to end his life,” she wrote.

“When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning.

“I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep and didn’t wake up.

“We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world. His struggles were real.”

Lisa continued by paying tribute to her son and how his role in Euphoria made him a ‘lightning rod’ for his generation.

She also mentioned the distinct scar across his head – which he got after he fell into a construction pit when he was 14, leaving him with slight brain damage.

She ended her post by saying: “Social media posts have suggested his death was intentional. I want you to know that this is not the case.

“To honour his memory, please make random acts of kindness a part of your daily life. Bless your hearts.”

Cloud’s cause of death is yet to be determined – with the Oakland Police Department confirming that the situation remains an ‘active death investigation’.

Tributes have continued to pour for Cloud, with Euphoria co-star Zendaya describing him as ‘infinite beauty’ in a heartwarming Instagram post.

Meanwhile, the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, added: “There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon.

“He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched.”
