Ashton Kutcher ‘Lucky To Be Alive’ After Battling ‘Rare Disease’
Ashton Kutcher has revealed that he is ‘lucky to be alive’ after battling a rare vasculitis disease that affected his ability to walk, hear, and see.
In a recent episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, the actor told the presenter he was diagnosed with the illness about two years ago.
Kutcher said: “Two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis that, like, knocked out my vision. It knocked out my hearing. It knocked out, like, all my equilibrium.”

He revealed that it took him about a year to fully recover and regain those abilities.
The Two And A Half Men star went on to add: “You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone, until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again’.”
According to the NHS, vasculitis is a disease that inflames your blood vessels and makes them swollen and narrow.
Kutcher told the wildlife host that the illness changed his whole outlook on his life, by saying: “The minute you start seeing your obstacles as things that are made for you to give you what you need, then life starts to get fun.

“You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living underneath them.”
The actor has recently been in the news after he and his wife, Mila Kunis, have been campaigning and raising money for Ukraine.
Kunis was born in the war-torn country and the couple recently had a video call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who thanked them for everything they have done.
Their campaigns have helped people flee Ukraine and find safety elsewhere.
