YouTuber Dumped After ‘Disgusting’ Wedding Prank Now Faces 7 Years In Jail
Controversial YouTuber Jack Doherty could up to seven years in jail after a long list of run-ins with the law.
The 22-year-old influencer first gained an online following in 2016, when he began sharing videos of himself flipping objects.
However, his content has become more and more controversial over the years, with many of his videos featuring him antagonizing members of the public before hiding behind his security guard.
Then, in 2024, the content creator made headlines for a cruel prank on his then-girlfriend, OnlyFans model McKinley Richardson.
During what appeared to be the couple’s wedding ceremony in Las Vegas, Doherty livestreamed the entire event before dramatically producing a prenuptial agreement in front of guests.
The document claimed Richardson ‘gets absolutely nothing when I divorce her, even if I cheat.’
He also declared: “If she cheats, she automatically owes me $10 million. I’ll also receive 100 percent of her OFs revenue moving forward, even if we divorce.”
Although the ceremony was never legally binding, the stunt drew widespread backlash online, with many accusing the influencer of publicly humiliating Richardson for views.
Richardson later described the incident as both ‘disgusting’ and ‘humiliating,’ further fueling criticism of Doherty’s content.
A number of legal issues
In 2023, Doherty became involved in a verbal altercation while filming a video at a Halloween party.
This escalated into one of his bodyguards allegedly attacking one of the guests, resulting in a lawsuit for assault and battery filed on February 21, 2024.
The same year, Doherty was live streaming when he hydroplaned and crashed his McLaren 570S sportscar along a Miami highway.
The footage showed he was looking at his phone at the time of the smash.
As a result, streaming platform Kick decided to ban Doherty, while the person filming received stitches for a head injury.
He was later cited by Florida Highway Patrol for using a wireless communication device while driving.
Doherty was eventually allowed back on Kick, before being banned once more for live streaming a fight between himself, his security guard and a member of the public.
Doherty arrested in Florida
In November 2025, Doherty made headlines once again after he was arrested in Florida over drugs charges.
He was taken into custody in Florida on November 15, with the arrest quickly becoming headline news after Doherty began posting about the incident across his social media accounts.
According to authorities, officers allegedly discovered ‘half of an orange oval-shaped pill with 3 imprinted on it, consistent with a Schedule II amphetamine,’ as well as three ‘suspected cannabis cigarettes.’
If convicted on the charges, the influencer could reportedly face up to seven years in prison.
Rather than keeping quiet following his release, Doherty immediately began documenting the experience for his followers.
The social media personality, who boasts more than 28 million followers across his various platforms, uploaded an Instagram post announcing that he was ‘free.’
He also claimed that NBC was waiting to interview him after his release and spoke about people he met while in custody before saying: “Party outside of the jail cell, let’s get it.”
Alongside the post, he shared multiple news stories covering his own arrest.
Public records show Doherty’s bond was set at $3,500 before it was paid.
Reports have also alleged that the influencer resisted arrest during the incident, though the circumstances surrounding that claim have not been fully detailed.
Influencer celebrates release from jail
Doherty continued posting after leaving custody, uploading another video featuring several men he claimed to have befriended while in jail.
Holding a bag containing his personal belongings, he asked them: “How was I like in jail? Was I running that s*** or what?”
He then claimed he had managed to get ‘everyone’s lunch money’ while behind bars.
One of the men appearing in the video also claimed he had been taking ‘people’s s***’ while incarcerated.
Doherty captioned the clip: “I ran that jail so fast,” followed by an exhaling emoji and a laughing emoji.
Whether the influencer’s version of events accurately reflects what happened during his time in custody remains unclear.
Despite the seriousness of the charges he is facing, Doherty appeared upbeat throughout the posts, telling followers he had been released in time to ‘shoot with 6ix9ine tomorrow’ — a reference to the controversial rapper, whose criminal history includes convictions relating to child sexual offenses and domestic violence.
The YouTuber also encouraged supporters to ‘download all of the news clips’ they could find about his arrest and send them to him.
He later shared his official police mugshot on social media with the caption: “First day out.”
Social media users ridicule the YouTuber
As news of Doherty’s arrest spread online, many social media users responded by mocking the influencer rather than expressing sympathy.
Several people referenced the fact that many of Doherty’s videos feature him relying on security guards during confrontations.
One person wrote: “Can’t imagine what will happen to him in prison without his bodyguard.”
Another commented: “Let’s see what he says when he goes to prison – not the local lock up.”
A third joked: “He’ll be doing anything for protection in there.”
The online reaction reflects the increasingly divisive reputation Doherty has developed throughout his career.
