Jason Momoa’s Girlfriend Reacts To His Unrecognizable Appearance After He Shaves Off Iconic Beard
Jason Momoa’s girlfriend has reacted to his ‘shocking’ new look after the star shaved off his iconic beard.
The Game of Thrones star left fans gobsmacked just yesterday (July 31), as he shared a clip shaving off his beloved beard.
The star revealed on Instagram that the facial hair had to go, as he returns to the Dune film franchise.
The actor starred in 2021’s Dune as Duncan Idaho, but after sitting out the second installment, Dune: Part Two, Momoa confirmed that he will be back for filmmaker, Denis Villeneuve’s, part three.
“Only for you, Denis,” the actor said as he began to shave off his much-loved beard.
But as fans were left divided over the controversial new look, one other particularly important person in the situation has responded.
That being Momoa’s other half.
Because let’s face it, you never want to make a decision as drastic as this one, without getting prior approval from the Mrs.
The 45-year-old’s post has now received over 70,000 likes, but the actor himself isn’t so sure on the new look.
Moments after the deed was done, Jason noted: “I hate it.”
One fan said: “Great, you look so handsome, Jason why do you hide your beautiful face.”
Another added: “Am I the only one who likes “no beard?”
“I love the change,” a third commented.
But others were not so convinced.
One user noted: “Not to be dramatic, but this is like watching an angel lose their wings.”
Another said: “A beard might just be the male version of makeup.”
Some suggested that the actor really does look unrecognizable following the trim.
One wrote: “From that first shot of him shaving, if you’d asked me and given me 1,000 tries, I would never have guessed it was Jason Momoa.”
Another said: “I didn’t even recognize him!”
Mamoa and actress Adria Arjona went public with their relationship in May 2024, and have since been seen at a handful of red carpet events together.
But like many of his fans, his other half was seemingly fond of his new look, commenting three black heart emojis under the clip.
Prior to dating Arjona, Momoa had been with actress Lisa Bonet for 16 years, four of which they were married.
Bonet filed for divorce from the Dune actor in 2024.
The couple have two children together, son Nakoa-Wolf and daughter Lola Iolani, and Nakoa-Wolf will join his dad to star in the upcoming Dune film.
Speaking about working with his son during filming, and how he landed the part, Momoa noted that he did it ‘all on his own.’
In an interview with Extra TV, Momoa said: “I didn’t want to help him, and he’s done it all on his own.
“I couldn’t do what he’s doing at his age. There’s no way I could sit in a room with Denis Villeneuve and hold my own.”
